AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. My dad and I had many meaningful conversations, especially in the last few years of his life, and one thing that he always said was "paso a paso", translation in English is ‘step by step’. He shared with me some of his greatest wins and biggest failures and always talked about how great things happen one step at a time.
For me this has taken some time to really understand but there is great wisdom in just getting started and moving forward one small step at a time. Every step has taken me to where I am right now and it is exciting to keep on moving forward.
2. I was walking with my husband one day, complaining about a relationship in my life that seemed to be so disappointing to me at the time. He turned to me and said, ‘I think you just have to lower your expectations hon’. We had a long conversation about expectations and this has freed me to just enjoy the moments that I share with people who are right here right now.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. “Expectation is the root of all heartache.” by William Shakespeare.
2. “In our hyper-achieving, go-getter world, I'm telling you to lower the bar. Not because I don't want you to achieve great things, but because I know that you need to start small in order to achieve them. But you can't succeed without starting small if you're looking down your nose at it.” by B J Fogg.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. What do you want to achieve in the next 3 months and what is one small step that you can take right now towards your goal?
