AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
If I followed you around for a day, I could probably point out dozens of moments when you’re already in a good feeling. When the sun breaks through the clouds. When you exhale without realizing it. When something small makes you smile. We’re not very practiced at noticing these moments because we tend to focus on what’s missing or problems that are somebody else’s fault. You know the saying ‘practice makes perfect’ well I have been practicing noticing the moments in my day when I feel great, calm, peaceful, happy, loving…and I’ve noticed that the more I practice the better I feel and the sooner I feel better.
What’s been interesting to notice is how quickly that good feeling disappears when my thinking gets busy or insecure. Nothing outside really changes — just the way I’m looking at things. When I catch myself spiraling into “I should have” or “what if,” it’s a sign I’ve drifted away from the moment I’m in. For me, that’s not a problem to fix — it’s a gentle reminder to come back and to slow down. This is where I wanna be.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
“The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times. The best moments usually occur when a person’s body or mind is stretched voluntarily.” by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax.” by Mark Black.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
Where in your day do you already feel a bit lighter or more settled—and what happens when you let yourself notice that instead of rushing past it?
