Me, Myself, and My Selves.

AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. We have selves inside our self. Selves that can help us see the beauty and magnificence of life — but so often we fall into the tired, fatigued self instead, just because it's a habit. That spirit inside of us is always, always there, ready for us to breathe oxygen into our life and create something new. The power isn't out there somewhere. It's in you. It's almost funny to me when I hear people say they can't change who they are.
2. When I come home and my little dog Rocky jumps all over me, tail wagging like crazy, I fall to the ground and start making all kinds of weird little sounds and crazy noises. Is that who I am? Or — if my son yells "Mom, the tax man is at the door," I will be a very different person answering that door than if he yells "Mom, Sylvester Stallone is at the door." We're not one fixed thing. We're infinite creative potential, and we get to choose who shows up.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. "I am large, I contain multitudes." by Walt Whitman, Song of Myself
2. In a landmark study, neuroscientists scanned the brains of London taxi drivers — who have to memorize roughly 25,000 streets to get licensed — and found their hippocampus, the brain region tied to spatial memory, was measurably larger than average, and grew larger the longer they'd been driving. The brain isn't fixed. It physically reshapes itself around what you practice. "I can't change who I am" isn't just discouraging — it's not how the brain works.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. Which self did you let answer the door today — the tired, habitual one, or the one that's excited to be alive? And what would it take to choose again, right now?
