AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
I remember hearing someone say, “The older I get, the less I know.” At the time, I didn’t get it. I thought knowing more was the whole point. I want to be perceived as smart, confident and like I’ve got things figured out – even when I don’t. But as I am learning and growing and deepening my understanding, I see how not knowing is so magical. I experience life from curiosity and interest more often and I feel that childlike enthusiasm bubble up inside of me. I am learning to trust that there is something I am not seeing and it will show up.
What’s really surprised me is how much freedom lives in not knowing. Like when I just show up as myself not worried about what I am gonna get out of it – not attached to the outcome. I think this has really helped me to better express myself with others because my focus is not on me getting something from them but more on listening to see if I can help and sharing how when I think I can. Life feels less like something I must solve, and more like something I get to explore.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” by Socrates.
“Not knowing is most intimate.” by Pema Chödrön.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
Where in your life right now are you trying to get something from someone and can you turn it around to see what you can give them instead?
