Personal intelligence, the intelligence of the universe, and why do we think we are so smart?

AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
I’ve noticed how much I rely on my personal intelligence — my opinions, my plans, my ability to figure things out. It feels like I am the one running the show. And yet, when I look closer, so much of life is already being handled without me thinking about it at all. My heart beats. My breath comes and goes. Insights pop in when I least expect them. There’s something moving through me that feels bigger than my own cleverness.
What humbles me is seeing how limited my thinking can be when I’m trying to control everything. The more I tighten my grip, the smaller my world feels. When I ease up, something wiser seems to take the lead. I don’t become less intelligent — I become more available to something I have not seen before. That’s often when the most helpful ideas and the simplest next steps show up.
Rocky is our puppy and for two years he slept with us every night. Then one night right when I was dozing off to sleep, he sat by my door and quietly whimpered to go see what his brothers were up to. It took me 5 or 6 nights of interrupted sleeps to see that I could just open my door a crack and he could come and go as he pleases. Common sense, right?– a great night’s sleep for me – and fun for Rocky. So simple. But it took me a minute to see it.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will.” by Albert Einstein.
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” by Rumi.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
Where in your life right now might you trust something deeper than your personal thinking — and see what happens when you stop trying to rely just on your intellect?
