AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. The more I settle into the present moment, the more I realize this is where everything I’ve been looking for actually lives—clarity, peace of mind, happiness, wisdom.
Like so many of us, I’ve spent time replaying yesterday—what I should’ve said, what I wish I could change. I’ve also tried to outthink tomorrow—predict it, plan it, control it.
But the only place life is actually happening… is right now.
And the best part? That space is always available. I don’t need to earn it or chase it. It’s just here, waiting. For me. And for you.
2. I used to believe that if I meditated the right way, I’d find what I was looking for—peace of mind, clarity, answers. But honestly? It always felt like a lot of effort. I had to schedule the time, sit a certain way, try not to think, try not to notice every little sound… and in the end, I was just trying really hard to get somewhere I wasn’t.
What I’ve come to see is that I was mixing up two things: meditation as a practice and the state of meditation. One is a technique—something to do. The other is a natural state of being. A truth.
For me, the state of meditation doesn’t come from effort. It shows up when I’m not trying—when I’m in a good feeling, when my mind is quiet, when I’m just… being. That’s when new insights come. That’s when I hear something deeper—from within, not from outside.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. “You can’t be present and be thinking at the same time.” by Sydney Banks.
2. According to research by Harvard psychologists Matthew Killingsworth and Daniel Gilbert, people spend nearly 47% of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing—and it makes them less happy. Their conclusion: “A wandering mind is an unhappy mind.”
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. What if you chose to truly be present with every person you connect with today—your partner, your child, your coworker?
