AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
I’ve noticed something funny about blind spots. I can’t see them, but I think I can. As I go through my day I meet with people, work, go to the gym and create my experiences moment to moment and it’s such a relief for me to know that I am doing the best that I can and I might choose to do it differently tomorrow. For most of my life I would say yes to anyone that asked me to do anything because that’s what I thought a good person should do. Funny thing is I would often be resentful or annoyed when I said yes. This was a blind spot for me and something I had to realize for myself. I’m getting better at slowing down now and really saying yes when I feel good about it. I’m always thinking to myself ‘Wow… how did I not see this sooner?
What’s helped me is not judging myself (or others). When I’m confused it doesn’t mean I am failing — it’s usually a sign I’m about to learn something new. When I let go of needing to figure things out right away and staying a little curious instead, things feel more hopeful. I’ve experienced this in my life many times now, so I know that what is obvious is just hiding in plain sight.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
“The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.” by Henri Bergson.
“We don’t know what we don’t know until we know it.” by Unknown.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
Where in your life right now might there be something you can’t quite see yet — and what changes if you stay curious instead of certain?
