AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. For nearly a decade, I volunteered weekly at a local retirement and long-term care facility. We called it ‘Wendy and Friends’ and my friends and family would come hang out wherever they could. During our visits, we played games, shared countless laughs, and snacked on chips and pop and candy. But what stands out most in my memory are the heartfelt conversations I had with the residents.
Two messages echoed time and again:
Be kind.
Resilience is the key to happiness.
These words of wisdom have stayed with me, and I know they’ll continue to shape my perspective for the rest of my life.
2. When I fail in work or in a relationship that is important to me, I give myself a specific period of time to feel really crappy about the situation. Then I say to myself ‘That’s it. Move on.’ Then I take action, or I do nothing, but I let go of the negative feelings and search for the lessons. I have experienced many failures and each time I learn and grow and vow to do better tomorrow.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. “Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” by Mother Theresa.
2. “It's not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." by Charles Darwin.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. What if today I decide to be kind to every single person that I meet, in every email that I send, and to myself? How will this change my day?
