AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. I have goals. Dreams. Things I want to accomplish. Adventures I want to go on. And I’ve realized—it’s okay to want, to hope, to reach for more. What’s changed for me is this: I no longer believe my happiness is waiting on the other side of a milestone. I don’t have to arrive somewhere to feel full. I can want more and appreciate what’s here. That’s the sweet spot.
2. I have goals. Dreams. Things I want to accomplish—one of them is losing the last ten pounds. But here’s what I’ve come to realize: I don’t have to punish myself to get there. I don’t need to obsess over it or think badly about myself. I can still enjoy good food. I can still say yes to an ice cream cone on a warm day – I do that regularly.
It’s okay to want something and feel good about where I am. My happiness isn’t on hold until I hit the number on the scale. I can pursue change with kindness, not criticism. I can choose to enjoy the process, not just the destination.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. “Our human essence is happiness.” by Sydney Banks.
2. According to positive psychology research by Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky, only 10% of our happiness comes from external circumstances. The rest? It comes from how we think, how we act, and how we choose to relate to what’s happening right now.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. Where in your life are you chasing something—believing it will make you happy—what if you choose happiness right now?
