AHA'S AND ACTION:

Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…

2 THOUGHTS FROM ME

I’m continually struck by how simple happiness actually is—and how easily we overlook it. We tend to search outside ourselves for answers, reassurance, or relief, without realizing that the wisdom we’re looking for is already present. I’ve always been a fairly optimistic person, but I was often hurt and sad by what other people said or did – especially when it was someone that mattered to me. Now this still happens to me from time to time but things are different now. I know that ‘I am the boss of me’ (ha ha) I am happiness and when I point myself back there it feels good.

When our mind is busy, wisdom (inner knowing, intuition, wellbeing – we call it different things) gets crowded out. But in moments where we are fully present – at the gym, driving our car, playing a round of golf, sitting on the dock, gardening - something just pops into our head and it makes perfect sense – you think to yourself ‘Duhhh, why haven’t I seen that all along?’ That’s a deeper intelligence, common sense, love, happiness, peace of mind – that’s who you are.

I’ve always been chatty. Growing up all my report cards said, ‘she talks too much’ and I’m sure they said other things as well but that’s what my parents focused on. Silence in the room always felt awkward to me so I tended to fill in the spaces with my words. As I have been on this journey of  self-discovery I have stepped outside of this story and realized ‘this is optional’. I don’t have to ‘talk too much’ or ‘I can talk’ whatever. Now I really do listen to others more. I listen to myself more. It’s been a fun experiment and still a work in progress.

2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE

“Wisdom cannot be given. It can only be discovered.” by Sydney Banks.

“Silence is not empty. It is full of answers.” by Unknown.

1 QUESTION FOR YOU

What if there is a solution—and there’s something quietly wise already available to you in this moment?...when you listen.
