AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. Now and again my blood boils and I say something I wish I could take back. When I am heading into a difficult conversation, or when I can feel my body starting to react, I really think about what I am going to say, I tap into my inner wisdom, and I stay in the conversation with curiosity rather than coming in with all of my reasons and opinions and negative emotions.
I focus on listening to what the other person has to say and really try to understand where they are coming from.
I have become more comfortable with silence, but am still a work in progress.
2. Kids are half mom and half dad and when we say anything negative about their other parent it is like smashing a sledgehammer on one side of their body. It really hurts them deeply.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. “Speak only if it improves upon the silence.” by Mahatma Gandhi.
2. “Think before you speak. Your words could be the reason someone smiles or the reason they never speak again.” by Unknown.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. Can you spend one day speaking only with kindness and love?
