Outside, inside, and which side should I be on?

AHA'S AND ACTION:
Here are 2 thoughts, 2 inspirations, and 1 question for you to reflect on this week…
2 THOUGHTS FROM ME
1. There’s so much noise coming from the outside—opinions, expectations, shoulds. Parents, partners, coworkers, clients. And if I’m not paying attention, I catch myself trying to align with all of it. Trying to match what others think I should feel, say, or do.
But when I check in with the inside, the guidance is quieter—and so much wiser.
What I’ve noticed is this: when I don’t choose my side—when I ignore that inner knowing—one of two things usually happens. Either things appear to work out, but they don’t feel right… or they don’t work out at all, and I’m left deeply disappointed in myself.
But when I do choose my side—when I follow what feels true for me—I feel good, no matter how it turns out. Whether things succeed or fall apart, I’m still okay. Because I listened to me.
2. It’s not always easy.
It’s not always easy to listen to myself. The outside feels louder. It appears to know better than I do. It’s tempting to look out there for answers. But the more I turn inward, the more I trust that I already know. My inner wisdom may not shout—but when I give it space, it never steers me wrong.
2 INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE
1. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life." by Steve Jobs.
2. Psychologist Carl Rogers believed that the key to lasting change is congruence—when our outer life reflects our inner truth. The more aligned we are with who we really are, the more grounded, resilient, and connected we become.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
1. Where in your life are you following the outside voice—are you willing to make a change?
